Pricing transparency

What the sender pays, what the traveller receives, and what CheapShip keeps.

  • Payment held until handover

The sender pays by card through Stripe. The money stays in an escrow account and is only released to the traveller after the parcel is handed over.

  • Freely negotiated price

There is no imposed rate: the sender makes an offer, the traveller accepts it or makes a counter-offer. Prices are usually between €15 and €30 per parcel.

What CheapShip costs

  • Posting a listing is free.
  • The transport price is set between the sender and the traveller; the total amount is shown before payment.
  • CheapShip takes a 15% commission on the agreed price.
  • Stripe payment fees are paid by the traveller.
  • The traveller pays €0.50 each time they withdraw their earnings to their bank account.

If the delivery is cancelled

  • The traveller cancels their trip: the sender is refunded, minus Stripe payment fees.
  • Amicable cancellation or no-fault reason: the sender is refunded, minus Stripe payment fees.
  • The traveller refuses the parcel for a serious reason (contents not as described or prohibited): the sender is refunded the price, minus Stripe fees and the CheapShip commission.
  • Stripe payment fees are never refundable. In case of disagreement, support decides.
