Earn money while travelling

You are already making the trip: offer the free space in your luggage to senders with a parcel on your route. You set the price with them, and you are paid after the handover.

Propose a trip
  • Security Check at pickup

At the handover meeting, the traveller checks the parcel and its contents before agreeing to carry it. If it does not match the listing, they refuse it, with photos as evidence.

  • Freely negotiated price

There is no imposed rate: the sender makes an offer, the traveller accepts it or makes a counter-offer. Prices are usually between €15 and €30 per parcel.

  • Payment held until handover

The sender pays by card through Stripe. The money stays in an escrow account and is only released to the traveller after the parcel is handed over.

  • Verified identities

A verified email is enough to post. Before any transaction (contact, offer, payment), both parties' phone and ID are verified, and each accepts the transport contract.

What CheapShip costs

  • Posting a listing is free.
  • The transport price is set between the sender and the traveller; the total amount is shown before payment.
  • CheapShip takes a 15% commission on the agreed price.
  • Stripe payment fees are paid by the traveller.
  • The traveller pays €0.50 each time they withdraw their earnings to their bank account.

How to become a carrier on CheapShip?

Post your trip with the date, the cities and the weight available in your luggage. Verify your phone and ID and accept the transport contract: this is required before carrying anything. Senders contact you and you agree on the price together. At the meeting, you can check the contents and refuse a parcel that does not match. Once the parcel is handed over at destination with the code, your earnings are available; each withdrawal to your bank account costs €0.50.

Is CheapShip legal? Is it undeclared work?

CheapShip connects individuals: a traveller agrees to carry another person's parcel during a trip they are already making, for a price agreed between them and under a transport contract accepted by both. The money received may be taxable depending on your country and situation: check with the relevant tax authority. CheapShip does not give tax advice.

What can I send with CheapShip? What are the restrictions?

Personal belongings, clothes, documents, books, gifts or personal electronics, in line with the customs rules of the destination country. Prohibited items include cash, weapons, drugs, dangerous or flammable goods, counterfeits, medicines without a prescription, and anything illegal at departure or arrival. The traveller can check the contents and refuse a parcel.
