Send a parcel to Algeria

CheapShip connects people sending a parcel with travellers already making the trip. The parcel travels in the traveller's luggage; they agree on the price together, and the payment stays held until the handover.

There is no imposed rate: the sender makes an offer, the traveller accepts it or makes a counter-offer. Prices are usually between €15 and €30 per parcel.

Our routes to Algeria

  • Verified identities

A verified email is enough to post. Before any transaction (contact, offer, payment), both parties' phone and ID are verified, and each accepts the transport contract.

  • Security Check at pickup

At the handover meeting, the traveller checks the parcel and its contents before agreeing to carry it. If it does not match the listing, they refuse it, with photos as evidence.

  • Payment held until handover

The sender pays by card through Stripe. The money stays in an escrow account and is only released to the traveller after the parcel is handed over.

  • Handover code

After payment, the sender receives a code to pass to the recipient. The delivery is only confirmed when the recipient gives this code to the traveller.

  • Support 7 days a week

Our team answers 7 days a week at info@cheapship.fr. Include the delivery number: the team can see the history and the messages.

  • Insurance

CheapShip does not offer parcel insurance yet. An offer for valuable items is being studied.

What to know for Algeria

In Algeria, personal belongings and gifts are allowed in reasonable quantities; beyond that, the Directorate General of Customs may charge duties or ask for a declaration. Avoid several identical items, which may be considered commercial, and include the prescription for any medicine.

What you cannot send

Cash, weapons, drugs, dangerous or flammable goods, counterfeits, medicines without a prescription, and anything illegal at departure or arrival. The traveller can refuse a parcel whose contents they cannot check.

In every case, the traveller can check the parcel's contents and refuse it at the handover. Never send cash, medicines without a prescription, prohibited items or products whose origin you don't know.

Can I send parcels to Algeria via CheapShip?

Yes. Post your parcel to Algiers, Oran, Constantine, Annaba or another city, and agree on the price with a traveller making the trip: usually between €15 and €30. Personal belongings and gifts are allowed in reasonable quantities. Avoid several identical items, which Algerian customs may consider commercial.

What are CheapShip's rates? Are there hidden fees?

There are no hidden fees. Posting a listing is free, and the total amount is shown before payment. The transport price is freely set between the sender and the traveller. CheapShip takes a 15% commission on it; Stripe payment fees are paid by the traveller, who also pays €0.50 each time they withdraw their earnings to their bank account.

How long does delivery take with CheapShip?

The parcel travels with the traveller: it arrives when they do, and the handover takes place on the day they arrive or in the following days, as agreed. The timing therefore mostly depends on the date of the next trip posted on your route.

Is CheapShip secure for sending my parcels?

Yes. Before any transaction (contact, offer, payment), CheapShip verifies both parties' phone and ID, and each accepts the transport contract. Payment is held in an escrow account and only released to the traveller after the parcel is handed over, confirmed with a code that only the sender receives. At the meeting, the traveller can check the contents and refuse a parcel that does not match. After each delivery, each party can leave a review.
